Phenomenal growth:
Lee County grew by 25% between 2000 and 2005. The US Census Bureau ranks Lee County the 18th fastest growing county in the nation in terms of housing units, and the 63rd fastest in population.
Healthy economy:
Forbes magazine ranked the Ft. Myers/Cape Coral area second among the top 150 cities for job growth in 2005, and in 2006 Inc. magazine named the Ft. Myers/Cape Coral area the third hottest city to do business in the nation.
Education:
Among Lee County’s workforce, 83% have a high school degree, 31% have a college degree and 54% have had some college. FGCU, Florida’s tenth state university, offers 37 undergraduate and 20 graduate programs.
Income:
The median household income in Lee County is over $45,000, almost 10% higher than the state of Florida’s.

Lee County is home to the Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Twins spring training facilities. During the summer months you can watch the Fort Myers Miracle. The Miracle is the Twins Class-A minor league team.

Travel:
Southwest Florida’s international airport consistently ranks among the 60 busiest airports in the nation. Passenger traffic increased over 44% from 2000-2005.
